Ruminations on the eve of an ordinary day

Don't know why the little urchin at the crossing smiles,
while I look for reasons galore........ and find none

Why silence is the only words i possess
Why muffled are my cries?

Why stillness is my only momentum,
Why handicapped all my motions?

Why mornings appear so dark,
Why night befriends?

Why all this heat doesn't thaw,
Why I turn and freeze?

Why footpath dwellers elicit no sympathy,
Why I smirk at friend's gaiety?

Why imprints of pain are but indelible,
Why joy refuses to leave a mark?

Why I love resentment so,
Why love resents me?

Why beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
Why everything is so ugly?

Why vitriol tastes so sweet,
Why honey is cloying?

Why questions will go unanswered,
Why curt replies abound?

Why life breathed its last,
Why death refuses to die?

Christ!!! Man, how come u possess this knack n I never knew that such a talent is inherent in ur lanky frame...Superb is the only word i wanted to put in the comment. Actually!!
Now, come back to earth--Dear, the poem is quite meaningful n all but y is the verve missing...c'mmon it's not so ugly, cold and numb...
Keep rockin'!!

lemme first bask in d glory..... as they say, looks deceive!! :D but, thanks for using words other than "superb" as well!!! although the word "superb" is good enuf in itself!! ok, jokes apart and coming down back 2 earth.....

The verve is not missing from d verse sir, its missing altogether from so many more momentous things, things that actually need it so much more than the ordinary verse does. It is not for nothing that i wrote this crap, there has to be reason strong enough for every step that we take, else we would rather sit back and enjoy the low-potential-energy state....
I looked "for reasons galore".......

Mind blowing !!:O

John Milton, John Donne, W.B.Yeats, T.S.Eliot and now its C.K.Sharma; Yes ! I find no difference for i needed a lecture of 50 minutes to get it properly but somehow with the help of word webpro and re-re-reading, i managed to get it.:D

Now coming to your poem, i guess you had taken an anti-tranquilizer for reaching the state where you have generated this.:P; because why so depressing.

Anyway...keep writing like this and i will keep taking pride thinking that this great poet is one of my best friend. :P

All the best :)

The inspiration to all this is LIFE (not necessarily a double entendre!!)... And life is well, everywhere. Nothing is hidden to it. So........

Besides, thanks so much for your concern. I treasure it, you already know, and willl continue to do so in my interests........

What I just read was a beautiful picture depicting the state of mind that I and probably innumerous individuals knowingly or unknowingly so often find themselves in.

Never imagined that the ugly feeling would make for such a pleasurable reading if penned down the way it is.

I appreciate that out of those innumerous; someone took out time to do it.

And the art Itself would surely appreciate that it was you who did it.

It sure is a comfortable feeling to know that I dont walk alone. There are millions who feel the same way I do. Companionship consoles. Thanks for letting me know I have it, and in plenty at that.

Besides, thanks so much for the magnanimous laudations. I feel honoured and encouraged, patted and prodded. Thanks!

By the way, you are beginning to understand me, are you?? Great prediction of what i would say "just those 2 lines?? :("

Yeah, there is some incident that perhaps sparked the fire........Will sure share it with you along some obscure corner of this winding journey called life. Walk with me some more distance. Talk with me some more minutes.

Thanks for your appreciation. Most of all, thanks for finding it touching. luv you too........
